I would like to acknowledge that the city of Montreal, in the province of Quebec, where I currently live, is located on the unceded Indigenous territory of the Kanien'kehà:ka Nation (Mohawk First Nation). Montreal, which is known as Tiohtià:ke to the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois Confederacy), and as Mooniyaang to the Anishinaabeg, was historically known as a gathering place for the First Nations; today it is home to a diverse population of Indigenous and other peoples.

I recognize and respect the First Nations' connections to Tiohtià:ke/Mooniyaang/Montreal as well as its past, present and future.
